Kathmandu: The newly appointed Chief Minister of the Madhesh Province, Satish Kumar Singh of Janamat Party, took an oath of office and secrecy before Province Chief Sumitra Bhandari today.
Meanwhile, the new CM constituted the council of ministers inducting Bharat Prasad Shah as the Finance Minister and Yubaraj Bhattarai as the Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Tourism. They represent the CPN (Maoist Centre).
Similarly, Saroj Kumar Yadav has been appointed the Minister for Infrastructure Development, and Raj Kumar Lekhi the Minister for Education and Culture on behalf of the CPN (UML) in the coalition government.
Other ministers in the Singh-led new province government are Shatrudhan Singh (Health and Population), Keshab Ray (Minister of State for Health and Population), and Sharada Devi Thapa (Minister of Education and Culture). They all represent the CPN(UML).
Likewise, Govinda Bahadur Neupane (Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives) and Bechi Lungeli (Energy, Irrigation, and Water Supplies) are from the CPN (Unified Socialist) while Bimala Ansari (Home, Communications, and Law) represents the Nepal Federal Socialist Party and Urmila Devi Singh (Labor and Transport) represents the Nagarik Unmukti Party in the government.
