Kathmandu: The Nepali women’s kabaddi team faced a defeat against India in the semifinal match during the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, on Friday.
Despite the loss, Nepal secured a bronze medal.
The Nepali women, who had a chance at winning gold, were defeated by India in the semi-final with a score of 61-17 on Friday. Nepal had advanced to the semifinals as the first runner-up in Group B, while India secured their spot in the semi-final as the winners of Group A.
In the sport of kabaddi, all four semifinalists are guaranteed medals. This is the first-ever participation of Nepali women in kabaddi at the Asian Games.
