Kathmandu: Three Nepali teams have been qualified for Korea Preliminary Round of the 2023 K-pop World Festival in the event hosted by the embassy of Republic of Korea in Kathmandu last week. More than 40 entries were submitted for Dance and Vocal categories. Out of them, six dance performances and four vocal performances were selected for the final round in Nepal.
The top position was secured by Minimare, a seven-member dance group, while Hearts To Beat (H2B), a dance group of five, came second. Menma secured the third position in vocal category in the song “To My Youth.” The top three teams were awarded cash prizes.
The K-POP World Festival is an annual K-pop talent competition organized by South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After few preliminary rounds, fans of K-pop are invited by the South Korean government to take part in the final round of the competition held every year in South Korea.
