Kathmandu: Swasthya Khabar Patrika, the pioneer health magazine of Nepal, is all set to organize its 11th edition of Health Awards 2023 in September under the theme ‘SDGs: Health and Wellbeing for all’.
Swasthya Khabar Patrika decided to choose the theme of SDGs to emphasize the importance of Nepal’s commitments toward achieving global goals (2030 Agenda), said Anil Nyaupane, publisher of Swasthya Khabar Patrika.
The selection of this edition’s theme is a deeper realization of the publication that the participation of all stakeholders including the media sector is very imperative to achieve the health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he added.
To be eligible for the award, an individual must have served in the public or community health institution making significant contributions in health promotion. Contributions made by volunteers are also eligible for the awards. In case of institutions, only public or community sector institutions are eligible for the award.
Exemplary contributions made by United Nations agencies, External Development Partners (EDPs), national and international nonprofit and volunteer organizations will also be recognized this year, Nyaupane said.
Professionals and volunteers involved in promotion through health care, policy advocacy, research and studies and other ways are eligible for the awards. Anyone can apply or nominate someone who meets the criteria.
An independent panel formed with the direct supervision of Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population will decide the list of awards recipients.
