Kathmandu: Shahnaz Rahman, a lawmaker from the Janata Samajbadi Party, passed away at the age of 63 due to a heart attack on Saturday. Rahman had collapsed suddenly during a picnic in Ghyampe Danda of Bhaktapur and was immediately taken to Madhyapur Hospital, where she was declared dead by the doctors.
According to Manish Suman, the party’s spokesperson, Rahman had been elected to the House of Representatives through the proportional representational system under the Muslim cluster and was also a central committee member of the party.
