Kathmandu: As many as 21 people were injured as Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police and squatters clashed along the Bagmati River in Thapathali on Monday.
The injured, according to City Police, are receiving treatment at the Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital.
The clash erupted as City Police and Bagmati River Basin Development Committee reached the squatters’ settlement to evict the area.
Earlier, the Committee had issued a notice to evict the area, encroached upon by squatters, by November 20.
As the officials reached the settlement, squatters pelted stones and tried to attack City Police officials with domestic weapons.
