Kathmandu: Three major parties of the ruling coalition have issued a joint appeal requesting to vote in favor of the parties in the alliance to safeguard the constitution, and to ensure stability, and prosperity.
In a statement, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal said the justification of the alliance will remain as long as there is a threat for regression on the constitution.
“The parties in the alliance are determined to nationalism, competitive multi-party democracy, socialism, human rights, suffrage, periodic elections, the principle of separation of powers, and the federal democratic republican governance system as envisioned by the Constitution of Nepal. This is the basis of common and clear ideological ground and cooperation of the coalition,” reads the statement.
They said the pursuit of the five-party alliance is to overpower many arbitrary actions of the then government, including the unconstitutional dissolution of the House of Representatives, which was done twice against the spirit and spirit of the federal democratic republican constitution, and to protect the constitution.
