Kathmandu: Senior Vice Chairperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Rabindra Mishra has announced his candidacy in the upcoming parliamentary polls from Kathmandu constituency number one.
Journalist-turned politician Mishra who had joined RPP on Wednesday announced his candidacy at a program organized at a banquet in Kathmandu on Friday.
“I want to assure the friends of Kathmandu-1 that if you send me to the parliament, I will raise your voice as the strongest member,” said Mishra while announcing his candidacy.
He said that the elected lawmakers from Kathmandu-1 have not done anything for the past 15 years.
Mishra had contested the earlier House of Representatives elections from the same constituency. However, Mishra, who was a candidate from Bibeksheel Sajha Party, was defeated by Nepali Congress candidate Prakashman Singh by a margin of 819 votes.
