Kathmandu: Chitra Lekha Yadav has been appointed the Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party on Wednesday. Likewise, Min Bahadur Bishwakarma has been assigned the responsibility of Whip.
NC President and Parliamentary Party Leader Sher Bahadur Deuba made the appointments.
The post of Chief Whip was vacant for the past one year after Bal Krishna Khand was appointed Home Minister in the incumbent government. The post of Whip went vacant after Pushpa Bhusal got elected Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Chief Whip Yadav is a former Deputy Speaker and has worked as Treasurer of the party, while Bishwakarma is a central member.
