UML’s Bidya Bhattarai files candidacy for Deputy Speaker

Kathmandu: CPN-UML’s lawmaker Bidya Bhattarai on Thursday filed her candidacy for the election of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Shanta Chaudhary is the proposer of the nomination while it was seconded by lawmaker Krishna Bhakta Pokharel.

Earlier today, Nepali Congress lawmaker Pushpa Bhusal filed her nomination from the ruling alliance for the election of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives slated for Friday.

CPN (Maoist Center) Chief Whip Dev Prasad Gurung proposed the nomination as lawmaker Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary seconded.

As per the election schedule, nomination filing is taking place today. The Parliament Secretariat will publish the list of candidates in order of registration within the stipulated time of their candidacies in the Federal Parliament Building notice board at 1: 30 pm today.

The election is scheduled to be held at 3 pm on Friday.
