Kathmandu: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota on Monday ruled the government to answer the House of Representatives for hiking the prices of petroleum products.
The Speaker ruled the government after the main opposition party drew the attention of the Parliament to a hefty increase in the price of petroleum products.
Speaking at the meeting of Parliament, UML lawmaker Padma Aryal said the party will not allow the House to run its business if Speaker doesn’t rule the government.
The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) on Sunday increased the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 21 and Rs 27 per liter respectively. The price of public transport has also gone up by a maximum of 7.7 percent with the price hike of petroleum products.
