Lawmakers demand effective implementation of health insurance scheme

Kathmandu: Lawmakers participating in a discussion under the ministry-wise headings of the Appropriation Bill for the fiscal year, 2022/23 in the House of Representatives today have put their views on many issues in the budget. 

They have demanded an effective implementation of health insurance program. 

On the occasion, Dr Bhim Rawal sought a response from the government on the matter of Nepali territories bordering neighboring India. He demanded declaration of Nepal as a Zone-of-Peace and prevent activities against the constitution from taking place. 

Stating that budget for Pokhara, Kaski has been reduced in every sector including health, Khaga Raj Adhikari accused the government of not being serious about the matter. 

He was of the view that the Manipal Medical College in Pokhara should not be privatised. 

Likewise, Shakti Bahadur Basnet sought the government’s clear stance on its foreign policy and security policies while Renuka Gurung sought a long term solution to waste management and demanded accommodation and land to the landless Dom community. 

Krishna Prasad Dahal demanded monitoring to end problems facing the health sector.
