Kathmandu: Zimbabwe ‘A’ defeated Nepal by three wickets in a first One-Day International match played in Kathmandu on Friday.
Zimbabwe went past the 137 runs target set by Nepal in 26 overs losing seven wickets in the match at the Kirtipur-based TU Cricket Ground.
Innocent Kaia top-scored for the visitor at 48 runs off 48 balls smashing four fours and a six as Cephas Zhuwao hit 32 runs. Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC grabbed two wickets each.
Earlier, Nepal scored 136 runs on the board losing all wickets in 31.1 overs after being put to bat first after losing the toss.
Sompal Kami top-scored for Nepal at 30 runs off 70 balls as Karan KC contributed 25 runs off 36 balls in the match that saw poor batting performance by Nepali cricketers.
Brad Evans of Zimbabwe sent four Nepali batsmen back to the pavilion while Victor Nyauchi, Brandon Mavuta, and Cephas Zhuwao grabbed two wickets each.
