Okaldhunga jeep accident: Two police killed, seven including six police critically injured

The Okahldhunga District Police is preparing to bring the critically injured police personnel to Kathmandu for further treatment

Kathmandu: Two police officers were killed in a jeep accident at Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality-6 in Okaldhunga district on Wednesday morning. 

The deceased have been identified as senior constable Bhupendra Karki and constable Manish Ranbanshi, according to DSP Sukadev Khanal.

The jeep with registration number Ba 17 Cha 1094 en route to Biratnagar plunged off the road at Hakrapur in Manebhanjyang.  

According to Okhalghunga District Police, nine people, including eight police personnel, were on board the jeep.

At least four police personnel are seriously injured in the incident. The district police office is preparing to bring critically injured police personnel to the Kathmandu-based Nepal Police Hospital for further treatment.

Those injured have been identified as inspector Rishi Raj Dhakal, sub-inspector Dhan Raj Khatiwada, assistant sub-inspector Nawaraj Dahal, senior constable Bishal Shrestha, constable Rupak Bista, and jeep driver Lila Prasad Khanal.
