Kathmandu: Nepal cliched the title of the Tri-Nation T20I Series on Monday defeating Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 50 runs.
Chasing 169 runs target set by Nepal losing six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, PNG managed to score only 118 runs on the board losing all wickets in 16.1 overs in a match at TU Cricket Ground in Kathmandu.
Sese Bau top-scored for PNG at 59 runs off 38 balls as Charles Amini contributed 15 runs for his team. No other batsmen managed to score in double-digit. Dipendra Singh Airee of Nepal grabbed four wickets while Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane took three and two wickets respectively.
Earlier, put to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal notched up 168 runs with Dipendra Singh Airee contributing 54 runs off 38 balls. Aasif Sheikh and Kushal Bhurtel hit 29 and 25 runs respectively. Semo Kamea of PNG sent three Nepali batsmen back to the pavilion.
