Gorkha: As Covid-19 is spreading like a wildfire lately, the Manakamana Temple Committee has decided to bar devotees from entering the temple from Friday.
According to Ram Kumar Joshi, chairperson of Manakamana Area Development Committee, the decision was taken after an abrupt rise in the number of Covid-19 cases lately.
“The committee has decided to close all other the programs except a routine prayer inside the temple from coming Friday. The decision was taken to avoid crowds in the temple,” he said.
Although the temple will remain closed, devotees can offer prayers from rallying of the temple.
According to Insan Bahadur Thapa, the chief priest of the temple, as many as 5,000 devotees offer prayers at Manakamana every day. RSS
