Kathmandu: Nepal has sent humanitarian and relief materials to Afghanistan in a Himalaya Airlines aircraft on Sunday.
Lately, Afghanistan has been facing a major humanitarian crisis since the Taliban took power in August.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 12 tons of humanitarian aid and relief materials, including medicines and clothes have been sent to Afghanistan on behalf of the Nepali people.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka informed that the relief materials, including medicines have been dispatched to Kabul through a special flight of the Himalaya Airlines.
“The humanitarian assistance package means Nepal’s moral responsibilities as a member of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to help others in need,” Dr Khadka said.
According to him, the assistance will be handed over to UN representatives in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. Minister mentioned this as an important mission and campaign in view of international relations.
