Kathmandu: The ruling Nepali Congress is holding its ward-level conventions in 13 districts today. The conventions in the districts were delayed due to active membership disputes.
The ward convention of the Nepali Congress, which started in September as part of the party’s 14th general convention, has been completed in other districts.
According to the NC Central Election Committee, ward conventions are starting today in eight districts of Province No. 2 and Kailali, Banke, Surkhet, Dolpa and Rasuwa. However, due to the resignation of the party’s election officer, there is still confusion over holding the ward convention in Sarlahi. Mahadev Prasad Yadav, coordinator of the committee, said that the convention would be started even after sending another election official.
As per the revised schedule published by the committee on October 28, the remaining village / municipal conventions will be held on November 19, the Provincial Assembly Regional Convention on November 22, the district convention on November 26. Similarly, the province convention is scheduled to be held on December 1 and 2. The central convention is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from December 10 to 12.
