Kathmandu: HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, announced that they will become the official smartphone partner for the Kathmandu Kings XI (KKXI) in the Everest Premier League (EPL), Nepal’s domestic T20 tournament.
The fourth edition of the tournament was fixed to take place last year but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will take place from September 25th to October 9th. Finland-based HMD Global, which is the exclusive licensee of the Nokia brand, plans to bring people together and leverage KKXI for its marketing initiatives to further build its brand in the country.

World-renowned cricket players, Shahid Afridi and local superstar Sandeep Lamichhane will reunite as team-mates for the KKXI. The tournament will feature a total of six teams: Bhairahawa Gladiators, Biratnagar Warriors, Chitwan Tigers, Kathmandu Kings XI, Lalitpur Patriots and Pokhara Rhinos. The lineup of players will include international athletes such as Shahid Afridi, Rayyan Pathan, Oshada Fernando, Richard Levi, Seekuge Prasanna.
