Kathmandu: Kathmandu Kings XI has made a winning start to the fourth edition of the Everest Premier League courtesy half-century by Rahmanullah Gurba and Ryan Burl. Kathmandu Kings XI defeated Lalitpur Patriots by seven wickets in the opening match of the tournament held on Saturday.
Chasing down a 158-run target by Lalitpur, Kathmandu got 160 runs on the board losing three wickets in 14.2 overs. Burl scored 73 runs off 34 balls hitting seven sixes and three fours as Gurbaz made 59 runs off 36 balls. Raju Rijal contributed 19 runs. Pawan Sarraf of Lalitpur grabbed one wicket.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Lalitpur managed to get 157 runs losing eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Pawan Sarraf made the highest 61 runs as Yogendra Singh Karki contributed 33 runs. Jitendra Mukhiya of Kathmandu took four wickets as Gulsan Jha and Ryan Burl grabbed two wickets each.
