Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka.
The new minister took oath amidst a ceremony at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Shital Niwas today in the presence of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota and National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timalsina were also present on the occasion.
The Head-of-the-State appointed Dr Khadka the Minister for Foreign Affairs today itself on the recommendation of the Prime Minister.
The President appointed Dr Khadka as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in accordance with Article 76 (9) of the Constitution of Nepal on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. Khadka is scheduled to leave for New York to attend the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations today.
