Kathmandu: Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Kul Prasad KC won a vote of confidence from the Province Assembly on Monday.
After a vote held earlier today, Speaker of Lumbini Province Assembly Purna Bahadur Gharti announced that the proposal on a vote of confidence for the Chief Minister was passed with a majority of the Province Assembly.
Gharti informed the Province Assembly that 42 members out of 80 Province Assembly members extended their support to Chief Minister KC. None of the Province Assembly Member voted against the Chief Minister while Deputy Speaker Krishni Tharu remained neutral on the proposal.
However, CPN-UML lawmakers boycotted the House meeting. On the occasion, Chief Minister KC said that boycotting the House meeting in such a context was not a good political practice and termed it as wrath created after exiting from power. KC added that staying in the power and in opposition was a normal political phenomenon while urging the concerned side not to disrupt the parliamentary process.
