Kathmandu: The CPN-UML has decided to expel 14 leaders including senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal from the general membership of the party. A Standing Committee meeting of the party held on Tuesday dismissed them also as lawmakers.
The Election Commission and the Parliament Secretariat have been informed of the action taken against the leaders, said Baburam Dahal who served as a legal advisor to the then Prime Minister KP Oli.
UML took action against leaders Madhav Nepal, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Mukunda Neupane, Ram Kumari Jhakri, Kalyani Khadka, Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary, Niradevi Jairu, Pushpa Kumari Karna, Sarala Yadav, Kalila Khatun, Birodh Khatiwada, Krishnalal Maharjan, Bhavani Khapung and Metmani Chaudhary.
