Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index registered an increase of 15.30 points on Wednesday to record another all-time high of 3,094.94 points. The stock market had increased by 29.24 points on Tuesday to reach an all-time high of 3,079.67 points.
The Sensitive Index, however, increased by only 0.02 points and reached 574.32 points.
Out of 13 sub-indices, banking, hydropower, manufacturing, and processing, and mutual funds fell today while all others registered an increase. The hydropower sub-index fell the most by 48.27 points as the life insurance sub-index went up by 431.38 points as the market closed. Investors were seen interested in hotels and insurance companies on Wednesday. As a result, the hotel sub-index index increased by 7.09 percent, the non-life insurance sub-index by 3.08 percent, and the insurance sub-index by 2.41 percent.
The stock market registered a total turnover of Rs 13.29 billion with 28,170,172 shares of 219 scrips traded today.
