Kathmandu: Thamel, a major tourist hub located at the heart of Kathmandu, wears a deserted look even after restrictions enforced to stem the spread of the coronavirus relaxed.
Thamel that used to be crowded with foreigners had suffered a blow when the first wave of the pandemic hit the country. A glimmer of hope for a revival of businesses was seen with cases going down and the arrival of tourists increasing. But the second wave of the pandemic served another blow to the tourist hub.
