Kathmandu: Covid-19 has been confirmed on 4,344 more people in the last 24 hours in the country.
The new cases were revealed in a total of 16,642 tests carried out, including 12,074 RT-PCR tests and 4,568 antigen tests, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The positivity rate stands at 28.6 percent.
Nepal currently has 80,336 active cases. A total of 74,438 people are in home isolation, 6,898 in institutional isolation, 1,312 in ICU, and 375 with ventilator support.
Similarly, 5,768 people have recovered from the virus during the same period, taking the number of people recovering from the virus to 510,298. The recovery rate has now climbed to 85.2 percent.
Meanwhile, 81 more people succumbed to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The number of people who have died from the pandemic has reached 8,179.
In the last 24 hours, Kathmandu Valley recorded 915 cases with 679 cases in Kathmandu, 85 in Bhaktapur, and 151 in Lalitpur.
A total of 2,273 Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in 20 days.
