Kathmandu: The country has recorded an additional 8,305 new Covid-19 cases, taking the caseload to a total of 488,645. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, samples of 21,695 people were tested through the PCR method while 393 samples were tested adopting the antigen method.
A total of 190 people died from the virus in the last 24 hours. So far, the death toll from the infection has hit 5,847, according to the Ministry.
Nepal is struggling with a second wave of the pandemic. Hospitals are reeling under a shortage of medical oxygen and running out of beds. Major hospitals are refusing to admit new patients citing a lack of oxygen.
Major parts of the country including the federal capital Kathmandu are under prohibitory order to curb the spread of the virus. In the past 24 hours, Kathmandu Valley recorded 3,232 fresh cases— Kathmandu district saw 2,600 cases, Lalitpur 403 and Bhaktapur 229.
Meanwhile, 6,543 recovered in the past 24 hours and the country has 115,852 active cases. The recovery rate stands at 75.1 percent.

Nepal registered 8,659 cases of Covid-19 in yet another highest single-day spike as second wave infections rage across the country. A total of 58 people died of the pandemic in the last 24 hours taking the death tally to 3,475.

Nepal recorded 9,271 fresh cases in the highest single-day spike as Covid-19 cases. A total of 139 people lost their lives to coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

Nepal recorded 9,483 cases of Covid-19 from 20,596 RT-PCR tests and 720 antigen tests. A total of 225 people died from the virus in the past 24 hours.

The country recorded an additional 9,305 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours in yet another record daily spike. A total of 168 people died from the virus in the past 24 hours.
