Kathmandu: Nepal Health Corps (NHC) Executive Director Dr Pradish Poudel has received Charles Boelen International Social Accountability Award 2021 on behalf of the NHC.
He was awarded formally during the 2021 Canadian Conference on Medical Education (CCME), 18th April 2021 by The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC Canada). Dr Geneviève Moineau, President of AFMC announced the award during Award Ceremony of CCME in the presence of thousands of Medical Professionals joining virtually from Canada and International.
Dr Poudel working as Asia Pacific Director and Country Representative for IDEAS For Us, founded Nepal Health Corps in 2019 as mission organization during his Fellowship with UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and its Youth Initiatives to empower and mobilizes young doctors, public health professionals, medical students and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development.
With its establishment, IDEAS For Us and UN SDSN-Youth accredited Nepal Health Corps Ambassador Program under the auspices of Dr Poudel and now have its extensive network in 38 Medical Colleges, School of Nursing and School of Public Health.
Dr Pradish Poudel says, “NHC programs are training, supporting, connecting and celebrating the young generation of thought leaders, activists and innovators to transform our marginalized communities, and to help advance progress on the Health Equity Mission in both cities and rural areas they represent.”
He added, “Through our context-specific community mobilization strategies like Fellowship Program, we help communities provide people with the care they need, where they need it.”
